We are a diverse community of Jesus followers based in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa who strive to be Christ-centered, family-focused and mission-minded. This podcast is a collection of lessons and workshops that have been given by a number of local and international speakers.
This lesson explores the theme of God's invitation as the primary way He relates to people, building on two realities covered previously: God is constantly at work, whether we notice it or not, and God desires an intimate, relational connection with us rather than a purely transactional one.
Three main points are drawn from the story of Moses at the burning bush, alongside personal anecdotes. God’s invitation is personal, it reveals His heart of compassion, and it will always stretch you.
These points raise the question of whether we are “interruptible” enough to respond to God’s calling amid busy lives, and requires us to respond in faith even when it makes no sense from a human perspective.
Are you pursuing your own plans and asking God to bless them, or are you seeking out God’s agenda and invitation, even when those invitations are inconvenient, disruptive and don’t make immediate sense?
Speaker: Ivor Botha
Scriptures: Philippians 2:13; Exodus 3:1-10
